Paper Secrets Store and was  perfect for this photo of my
Aunt Janie, taken sometime in the 60"s.
Note:  The background paper is SEI "Silver Valley ~River Rock"

My First Christmas

Hello Everyone!
It's that JOYFUL time of the year again and I am still scrapping photos from previous years!   LOL
I created the layout below for the Circle Around challenge at Scrap Our Stash!   I used a sketch from Sketch Savvy and one of my older collections.  I decided this year I would not purchase any of the new Christmas themed collections until I have used up the majority of the Christmas collections in my stash!

Here is my layout using a photo of my youngest grandson, Andre
and WRMK's "Peppermint Twist" Collection:
And the sketch from Sketch Savvy
I am also entering this layout in the following challenges:

Fun with a Pot of Water!

This months challenge at If It's Groovy is to create your own background!
Creating a background page was totally out of the box for me!
I struggle with “getting messy” so as you can see,
I kept my technique simple.
So here’s what I did:
  1.  Punched all around a piece of 12 x 12 karft cardstock using a Recollections punch
  2. Using Crafter’s Workshop 12 x 12 Reverse Chicken Wire template, I applied Gesso using a sponge paint brush.   And once it dried…
  3. With the template still in place, I lightly misted the cardstock with Mister Huey’s “Passport” Coloring Mist.   I was going to add a few drops of red paint, but chickened out!
Then it was time for a page design and I chose the sketch below by Em at PageDrafts.  AND…. I was able to use up some old scraps from Echo Park and Jillibean Soup
Here is my layout:

The product feature this month at Paper Secret's is October Afternoon.   For the 2nd Paper Secrets sketch challenge I used OA's "Cakewalk" collection which as you will see, was perfect the for the sketch we had to work with.   Because this collection included a sunburst patterned paper, I did not have to go through the trouble of "creating" a sunburst.

Baseball, Football, Soccer Anyone?

Oops!  I created this page last month for MOB Scrapbook Club using the September kit "Game On" and totally forgot to post it on my blog!

The layout is in the form of a birth announcement for my Goddaughter's baby boy.
I found the saying on the internet and how perfect for the sports theme of the "Game On" Kit.

I cut the star with my Cricut, stamped it with white paint, then layered it with a die cut piece, button and twine from the kit.   The banner is a die cut from the kit that I cut in half and layered under the photo.
