March Scrappy Friends "This Month In History" Challenge

Hello and welcome to this month's challenge.

Sorry for posting a few days late.

THE CHALLENGE:

 Select one of the history facts below, create a layout and include the challenge requirement

listed below the fact that you select.

Fact #1~ March 2, 1962 ~ Wilt Chamberlain of the Philadelphia Warriors scores 100 points in a basketball game.

Create a layout and you must include a circle and use the number 100 in your title.

Fact #2 ~ March 7, 1876 ~ Alexander Graham Bell patents the Telephone. 

Create a layout and you must add SMS language as part of your title, an embellishment or use patterned paper printed with SMS language.

Example of SMS language: 2DAY, LOL, BFF

Fact #3 ~ March 12, 1888 ~ The Great Blizzard of '88 struck the northeastern U.S.

The storm lasted 36 hours with snowfall totaling over 40 inches in New York City.

Create a layout based on one of the four seasons and you 

must include the color, AND...the item listed with that season:

Winter: The color BLUE and SNOWFLAKE embellishments and/or patterned paper

Spring: The color GREEN and a RAINBOW embellishment and/or patterned paper

Summer: The color RED and a SUN embellishment and/or patterned paper.

Fall: The color ORANGE and LEAF embellishments and/or patterned paper.

Fact #4 ~ March 17th ~ It's Saint Patricks Day!!! On this day everyone is a little bit Irish!

Create a St Patrick's Day themed layout 

OR 

any other themed layout but you must include

the following colors: 

GREEN, GOLD, and BLACK

February "This Month In History" Challenge

Hello and welcome to this month's challenge.

Sorry for the commenting and Mr Linky problem on January's post.  

Not sure what went wrong but all is well right now.

Here's the challenge for this month...

THE CHALLENGE:

 Select one of the history facts below, create a layout and include the challenge requirement
listed below the fact that you select.

#1 ~ February 8, 1895 - President Grover Cleveland authorized the selling of $62 million worth of bonds to J.P. Morgan in exchange for gold purchased from foreign investors, saving the Treasury from disaster. 

Create a layout and you must add 

GOLD paper and/or embellishments.

#2 ~ February 12, 1809 ~ The 16th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln was born.

Create a layout about a 

newborn baby 

and you must include a

heart embellishment and/or heart patterned paper.

#3 ~ February 22, 1879 ~ F.W. Woolworth opens "The Great Five Cent Store" in Utica, NY. 

 It failed in six months, but the second store he opened in June of the 

same year seemed to catch on.

Create a layout and you must use 

5 or more different types of embellishments

and/or

5 or more different patterned papers.

#4 ~ February 28 1968 ~ The first Grammy Awards was held.

Create a layout and for your title you must use the 
title of any song 
from any year awarded the 
Grammy for Song of the Year

Welcome to the reveal of my
January "This Month In History" Challenge

THE CHALLENGE:
 Select one of the history facts below and create a layout inspired by that fact.

#1 ~ Jan 1 (1908) ~ The ball was first dropped at Times Square in New York City:
Create a layout about a celebration. AND...you must include gold embellishments and/or alphas.

#2 ~ Jan 12 (1966) ~ Batman debuts on television: 
Create a super hero themed layout. AND... you must include stars on your layout.
(Patterned paper with stars and/or star embellishments)

#3 ~ Jan 14 (1973) ~ The Miami Dolphins defeat the Washington Redskins in Superbowl VII, to become the first undefeated team in NFL history: 
Create a sports themed layout . AND... you must include a banner on your layout.

#4~ Jan 15 (1974) ~ Happy Days premieres on television: 
Create a layout with the word HAPPY as your title or part of your title.
AND...you must use Thickers or Sticker letters.

"All-Star Sisters" Layout ~ The ScrapRoom

Hello everyone!

Today I am up on The ScrapRoom Blog sharing a layout I created

inspired by the 

April Freaky Fast Formula

For the challenge I decided to use the 

Echo Park "Magic & Wonder" Page Kit 

one of four kits included in the April 

Flavors of the Month Kit

I did not have any Disney photos that have not been scrapped so I opted for 

 some photos I had taken of my great-nieces while they

were in Portland competing in the Pac West Cheer Competition last month!

Both girl's teams took first place in their division and each team member is given a jacket,

so here they are showing off their jackets!

Below is the layout I created using this awesome kit....

Great colors and patterns which made it so easy and quick to create a layout of me and my great-nephew goofing around, while he was in Oregon during his sister's Cheer competition last month. 

One of my favorite paper companies is Fancy Pants and as usual this collection did not disappoint, especially with the incredible embellishments Rochelle added to this kit. 

All items used are from the kit with the exception of enamel shapes taken from the 

April Embellishment Add On Kit 

and the Alpha Stickers and Acrylic Word Sticker are from my personal stash.
