2012 Wish List...

Happy Wednesday Everyone!
Just a short post to share a layout I created using one of my favorite collections right now,
Simple Stories "Handmade Holidays"
I created the layout below for the the
Scrap Snob Challenge at If It's Groovy  where you are challenged to use patterned papers, embellies and alphas from one manufacturer.  This page was further inspired by the
January Sketch at Sketchbook 365
and the "Christmas" layout challenge at My Sketch World
Thanks for stopping by...enjoy the rest of your day!

Fun with a Pot of Water!

This months challenge at If It's Groovy is to create your own background!
Creating a background page was totally out of the box for me!
I struggle with “getting messy” so as you can see,
I kept my technique simple.
So here’s what I did:
  1.  Punched all around a piece of 12 x 12 karft cardstock using a Recollections punch
  2. Using Crafter’s Workshop 12 x 12 Reverse Chicken Wire template, I applied Gesso using a sponge paint brush.   And once it dried…
  3. With the template still in place, I lightly misted the cardstock with Mister Huey’s “Passport” Coloring Mist.   I was going to add a few drops of red paint, but chickened out!
Then it was time for a page design and I chose the sketch below by Em at PageDrafts.  AND…. I was able to use up some old scraps from Echo Park and Jillibean Soup
Here is my layout:

Thanks for stopping by!
17  more days to Christmas!
Happy Holidays!!!

Ship Ahoy It's A Boy!!!

There is nothing more precious than a new baby boy!
I love creating pages that announce the arrival of the new babies in our family...although the children are several years old before I get to the layout!  LOL
For my November DT assignment at If It's Groovy, I created this layout of my youngest great-nephew Isaiah,  which was inspired by the Heather Leopard sketch below:
